Here, handmade ceramic tile, polished natural stone, and even encaustic cement tile can be used with confidence, provided the subfloor is stable and humidity levels are managed.

Grout, Membranes, and the Installation Variables That Determine Longevity

The most technically superior tile in the world will fail prematurely if installed over a compromised subfloor or bonded with an adhesive mortar that cannot accommodate movement.
